As the way that students learn evolves, so must the modern classroom. This semester, Rutgers-New Brunswick has made giant strides toward this goal with the introduction of four brand-new, state-of-the-art Active Learning Classrooms (ALCs). The ALCs are designed to facilitate interaction, collaboration, and other approaches to learning through which students can work with ideas and one another. The biggest event on the ALC calendar each year is the upcoming Rutgers Active Learning Symposium. The event, the third annual, is on Tuesday, May 15 in the Rutgers Academic Building on the College Avenue Campus. This year's symposium will feature another national expert on teaching and learning in higher education. Dr. Kimberly Tanner of San Francisco State University will give the keynote presentation as well as an afternoon workshop.
