Beginning this spring many courses will use DCS's Synchronous Spaces to teach Converged classes comprised of in-person and remote students. In addition to the adjustments required to teaching remotely, Converged teaching requires that faculty engage both types of students simultaneously. Beyond helping faculty technically operate Synchronous Spaces, we work with them to help them tackle the challenges presented by Converged teaching. Stephen Chew, a nationally acclaimed expert on teaching and learning, will be the keynote speaker at this spring's Rutgers Active Learning Symposium, to be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. Chew, a professor of psychology at Samford University, will deliver a keynote lecture as well as a workshop at the popular annual event that draws more than 100 faculty and staff from Rutgers and beyond.
