Tips for Teaching Synchronously

Beginning this spring many courses will use DCS's Synchronous Spaces to teach Converged classes comprised of in-person and remote students. In addition to the adjustments required to teaching remotely, Converged teaching requires that faculty engage both types of students simultaneously. Beyond helping faculty technically operate Synchronous Spaces, we work with them to help them tackle the challenges presented by Converged teaching. As part of this effort, we have launched a new page devoted to Teaching in Synchronous Learning Spaces. This new tool draws on our experience supporting these advanced room as well as the feedback of faculty who have used them to teach classes with both in-room and remote students.
