Active Learning Community Open House

Active learning is a promising trend being pursued at Rutgers and throughout higher education. On October 23 at 10am in the Livingston Learning Center, we invite you to an Open House to learn about new plans for active learning rooms at Rutgers and a community of support to accompany their use. Representatives from the Learning CentersDigital Classroom Services, and Scheduling & Space Management will discuss soon-to-be-constructed classrooms designed through collaboration with faculty to facilitate group work, problem-solving, collaboration, and more.

At the Open House we will share our current plans for active learning spaces as well as our ideas for a community to help those teaching in these rooms reap the full benefits of these exciting new spaces. Most importantly, we welcome you to come share your feedback on what your ideal active learning room would look like and what support you need to use active teaching methods. Following the talk, instructors will be invited to sign up to use new active learning rooms next fall.

All are welcome, whether you are interested in using Active Learning Classrooms or just curious about active learning in general. Join us for coffee and a half-hour presentation followed by time to mingle, speak with faculty who use active learning techniques, and ask questions about and provide feedback on our plans.
