Refreshing Rutgers Classrooms for a New Semester

Every summer, DCS “evergreens” its classroom systems to ensure that Rutgers-NB learning spaces continue to reflect the learning that occurs within them. Our Technical Services & Operations team revisits each room every six years to replace aging equipment, add new features, and remove outdated technology. This summer’s work included adding instructor cameras and microphones to twenty-nine rooms. This equipment can be used by classes to videoconference and record. We also began removing VGA connections in favor USB-C connections, which faculty can use to connect newer laptops, tablets, and phones. Additionally, blu-ray players and document cameras have been phased out from rooms in which they don’t get much use.
