Adapter Cheat Sheet
Many laptops are not equipped with HDMI ports, the most common connections used to interface to projectors which are utilized in DCS rooms. As a result, it may be necessary to use an HDMI adapter, or “dongle,” in order to connect laptops, phones, and tablets to the HDMI connections provided in DCS classrooms. Because there is no standard adapter, there is no one dongle that DCS can provide for use by instructors. Instructors using laptops without the connection type in their room will need to provide their own adapter to project.
Below is an overview of devices and their associated adapters. Members of the Rutgers community can purchase adapters and other computer-related items at a discounted rate through findtech.rutgers.edu. View our detailed instructions for how to project from laptops and other mobile devices.
