DCS Unplugged on May 6th

Please note: registration is now closed and all seats are filled. Due to the high number of attendees, the showcase has been moved to Tillett Hall Room 242.

Join us on May 6th for the 2nd Annual DCS Showcase: Unplugging from the Podium. One of our focuses this year has been finding ways to help instructors get out from behind the podium and engage their students. By encouraging collaboration and discussion, allowing for a more dynamic presentation, or even overcoming geographic distances - students and faculty benefit from presentation options that don't require them to stay in one spot. At this year's showcase, our Instructional Technologists will highlight some tools designed to help instructors and students "unplug."

We will highlight ways to wirelessly project from a laptop, phone, or tablet, including methods of projecting up to four devices at once to enable collaboration. We will show how you can present and poll students directly from tablets offered by DCS. We will discuss how you can use DCS's wireless devices to control slide shows, navigate web pages, and more from anywhere in the room. And for those interested in taking it beyond the classroom, we will demonstrate ways that instructors, guest lecturers, and student can connect to their classroom remotely using video conferencing. Every teaching tool we demonstrate at this year's showcase will be available for use in DCS classrooms.

Come to our one hour session to see an overview of each tool, how it can be used in a course, and what you need to get started. Then, get a closer look and try them out for yourself during our breakout sessions.
